Your tour guide from Alexander Travel will pick you up from your hotel or Nile cruise in Aswan to visit St. SimoenMonastery which is located in the southern tip of the Elephantine Island.
Previously the monastery was given the name St Simeon by archaeologists and travelers, but earlier Arabic and Coptic sources called it AnbaHatre. The principal church of the Monastery was built during the first half of the eleventh century (or possibly earlier) and represents the oldest of its kind in Egypt.
